Energy solutions
for today and tomorrow
THE REPSOL WORLD
Repsol is a global multi-energy company that has the ambition of achieving zero net emissions by 2050. Renewable fuels are one of the main drivers in Repsol’s strategy to reach this goal. They are a necessary complement to other solutions to advance in the decarbonization of transport.
They are already available for all transport segments and can be used in current engines, taking advantage of existing infrastructures, thus speeding up the reduction of CO2 emissions in a cost-effective way. Present throughout the entire energy value chain, Repsol employs 24,000 people worldwide and distributes its products in more than 90 countries.
REPSOL PRODUCT BENEFITS FOR THE PROJECT
The Spanish multi-energy company is participating in this challenge by providing one of the key elements to overcome this challenge, supplying the fuel that will be used to complete the journey to the North Cape. This is not just any fuel, but a 100% renewable fuel that has been produced from organic waste at the Repsol Technology Lab, located in Madrid.
WHAT MOVED REPSOL TO JOIN THE AC50 PROJECT?
For Repsol, it is essential to be able to take on challenges as ambitious as the one posed by Acerbis in which our renewable fuel can be tested under the most demanding conditions. In this way, thanks to the results obtained during the AC50, Repsol’s engineers will be able to learn important lessons about the behaviour of the renewable fuel thanks to the test bench that this adventure will represent for Repsol together with Acerbis and the other partners. These lessons will help ensure that this renewable fuel reaches its final stage, the end customer, with the highest quality standards.
